Air Cadet Squadron Tips : A Squadrons guide to Google Maps

Who am I ? and why should you watch this?

Well I’m a Cadet Forces Adult Volunteer, with RAFAC at 306 (Runcorn) Sqn, my day job is an SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) Specialist and my speciality is local seo such as GMB / Maps.
After you have created your GMB listing you should follow these steps to optimise your listing.

Why are we doing this ?

It has worked wonders on my Squadron as a large number of new recruits have found us and made contact with us due to the GMB listing. especially with the addition of the GMB App available on iPhone’s and Android’s!

As a precursor to this you need a Google account preferebly connected to your Squadron General/ OC/ ADJ / SNCO account so even if you were to leave the Squadron someone else can continue on with the work for the Squadron.

You also need to create a maps listing and have it verified, 90% of the time this is via a post card that google sends you, it contains a code for you to input and verify that you are at the location.

Text to add to your location

“We are a youth organisation with roots in the Royal Air Force. We are open to anyone aged between 12 (and in Year 8) and 18 for Cadets, Civilian Instructors, Officers, and Civilian Committee is aged 21 and up. We have some of the best Cadets in (Insert Sqn here)”
